Kingsley Critiques Duke's Lagos-Calabar Highway Comments

Yakubu Kingsley, a chieftain of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), issued a statement in Abuja on Sunday, advocating for a constructive approach to opposition politics ahead of the 2027 general elections. His comments were in response to former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke, the PRP's presidential candidate recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, who described the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project as a misplaced priority.

Kingsley, who is contesting the May 25 primary that produced Duke as the party’s candidate, emphasized that political opposition should involve constructive criticism and acknowledgment of positive government initiatives. He praised the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway for its potential to improve transportation and economic connectivity, highlighting its strategic corridor alignment and engineering concept.

Kingsley stated that the project could enhance inter-city connectivity, reduce travel times, and stimulate economic activities, while also supporting tourism and industrial development.
