Tinubu's Aide Responds to Duke's Highway Criticism

On Wednesday, Temitope Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, addressed comments made by Donald Duke, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party for the 2027 elections. Duke criticized the N15 trillion Lagos-Calabar Highway project during an interview with Arise News, arguing that the funds could be better allocated to other sectors like healthcare and electricity.

He expressed skepticism about the project's feasibility, suggesting it would not extend beyond Epe in Lagos State and highlighting the challenges posed by swamps in Bayelsa. In response, Ajayi refuted Duke's claims via his X handle, stating that the highway project has already reached Ogun State and will extend further.

He criticized Duke's political ambitions, suggesting that his comments were politically motivated and not reflective of reality.
