PRP Faction Rejects Abuja Convention, Alleges Hijack Plot

The Kano faction of the People's Redemption Party (PRP), led by Comrade Abdulmajid Yakubu Daudu, has publicly rejected the outcomes of the Abuja convention, claiming it is part of a scheme to hijack the party's structure. They specifically criticize Hakeem Baba Ahm, alleging he misrepresents the party's interests.

Daudu asserts that the new leadership is attempting to discredit the party's socialist foundation, which was established to serve the working class and the masses, rather than catering to elite interests. The faction accuses a group referred to as the "Kaduna mafia" of trying to dominate the party structure, which they argue undermines the grassroots base historically associated with the PRP.

They have dismissed calls for reconciliation within the party, labeling the Abuja convention as illegitimate and ideologically compromised. Daudu reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing legal action and grassroots mobilization to uphold the party's founding ideals, criticizing the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for exacerbating poverty and economic hardship.
