Luis Enrique Advocates for PSG Player to Win 2026 Ballon d'Or

Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), asserted that the 2026 Ballon d'Or, set to be awarded in London in October, should go to one of his players after the club secured its second consecutive title. At a press conference, Enrique highlighted the collective achievements of his squad as justification for an individual award at the highest level of football.

PSG won their second straight Champions League trophy by defeating Arsenal on penalties in Budapest in May 2026, following their first-ever European crown against Internazionale in Munich, where they won 5-0. Ousmane Dembélé, who won the award after an impressive 2024/25 season, remains a contender alongside PSG midfielder Vitinha, who finished third in the previous voting.
