PSG Reject Chelsea's Bid for Nigerian Midfielder Echegini Amid Winter Transfer Window

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has turned down Chelsea's bid for Nigerian midfielder Jennifer Echegini, as reported by journalist Benjamin Suarez. Chelsea made a late push for the 24-year-old with three days remaining before the English transfer deadline.

PSG is determined to retain Echegini, considering her a central part of their sporting project for the second half of the season. Echegini, who joined PSG from Juventus in June 2024 on a three-year contract until June 2027, has impressed since her arrival from the Arsenal Academy.

She is valued for her composure, tempo control, and ability to influence decisive moments. Echegini's notable achievement includes scoring the winning goal in the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations final in Morocco, helping Nigeria secure their 10th continental title.

She is currently Africa's fifth most valuable female footballer and Nigeria's second most valuable behind Rasheedat Ajibade, according to Soccerdona and Transfermarkt.
