PSG Requests Lens Match Postponement Amid UCL Clash

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has formally requested the postponement of their crucial Ligue 1 fixture against RC Lens, set for April 11, 2024. This request is made in light of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against Liverpool, with the first leg occurring just three days prior.

The second leg will take place three days after the scheduled match against Lens. RC Lens, currently leading the Ligue 1 title race and sitting just one point behind PSG, has strongly opposed this request, emphasizing the significance of the fixture in their title chase.

Head coach Pierr Sage has voiced his opposition to PSG's request, recalling a similar situation where PSG had a domestic match postponed against Nantes in the previous round against Chelsea, which they won 8-2 on aggregate. The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has issued a statement warning against fixture moves that could disrupt the league's schedule.

Additionally, RC Strasbourg has also requested a postponement for their league trip to Brest due to their UEFA Conference League tie against Mainz.
