Qatar Offers Free Visa for Newborns Under Six Months

The Qatari government has announced a new visa category that allows newborn babies under six months old to enter the country without paying a visa fee. This visa is specifically designed for infants arriving with their mothers to facilitate the process of obtaining residence permits.

To qualify for this free baby visa, parents must meet five specific conditions: the baby must be under six months at the time of arrival; both parents must hold current residence permits; the mother must be under the sponsorship of her husband; an original, attested birth certificate for the baby must be provided; and the baby must possess a valid passport. The visa does not apply to older children or to babies traveling without their mothers.

Parents whose residence permits are expired or who do not meet the spousal sponsorship requirement will not qualify, emphasizing the need for families to ensure their documentation is in order prior to travel.
