Tragic Death of Maj Gen Rabe Sparks Security Concerns

Maj Gen Abubakar Rabe, a distinguished former spokesperson for the Nigerian Army, died in captivity after being kidnapped along with his wife while traveling to Katsina State. Col Ahmad Usman, a special adviser to the Sokoto State Governor, described Rabe's death as a national tragedy and a wake-up call to address the ongoing insecurity in Nigeria.

Rabe reportedly spent nearly two weeks in the custody of his abductors before his death, which has raised concerns about the persistent threat of banditry and kidnapping in the country. Usman expressed profound grief over the loss, emphasizing Rabe's dedication to serving Nigeria.

He called for stronger collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, and local communities to combat these challenges. Usman also urged security agencies to deploy all available resources to ensure the safe release of Rabe's wife, who remains in captivity, and to intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators of this crime.
