Retired General Rabe Laid to Rest Amid Security Concerns

Retired General Rabe was laid to rest in Katsina on May 30, 2023, in a burial conducted according to Islamic rites. The occasion was attended by family members, senior military officers, and government officials, all of whom described the event as solemn and deeply painful.

General Rabe had dedicated his life to defending Nigeria and was tragically abducted by bandits alongside his wife on the Marabar Musawa Kafinsoli Road in Matazu Local Government Area, Katsina State. Mourners openly wept, expressing shock and sadness over his death, which they described as tragic and ironic.

Dr. Sama Ila Balarab, who served the country faithfully, noted the pain of loss felt not just by the family but across the entire state.

The Defence Headquarters issued a statement recognizing General Rabe's immense contributions to counter-insurgency operations in the country and reaffirmed the military's commitment to bringing justice and dismantling terrorist networks.
