North West Governors Launch Security Framework for 2026-2030

On a recent date, the North West Governor Forum, chaired by Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, convened in Abuja for its third meeting, where they formally adopted and launched the North West Peace, Security, and Development Framework for 2026-2030. This strategic blueprint aims to coordinate regional actions and provide a shared vision to tackle complex challenges, including insecurity, organized crime, and socio-economic vulnerabilities.

The framework emphasizes the need for integrated collective action among member states. Governor Radda commended the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for its technical and financial support, highlighting its role as a strong partner in advancing peace and security in the region.

The forum also discussed strengthening operational structures and ensuring alignment of plans with budget processes. Furthermore, they addressed the need for member states to adopt the framework and engage with state statisticians to enhance regional data systems for evidence-based decision-making.
