Nigerian Muslims Warned Against Online Immorality and Emphasize Zakat Importance Ahead of Ramadan

In Kwara State, Nigeria, seven Islamic organizations, including the Muslim Congress and Al-Muminaat Organization, organized a pre-Ramadan seminar to advise Muslims on avoiding online immorality and emphasizing the significance of Zakat. The event, themed "Ramadan: Self-Purification and Detachment from Vices," featured a keynote lecture by Associate Professor Hamza Abdulraheem from Al-Hikmah University.

Abdulraheem highlighted Ramadan as a period of sacrifice to instill discipline, patience, and devotion. He stressed the importance of sincere fasting for spiritual purification and closeness to Allah.

Participants were urged to utilize social media responsibly during Ramadan, focusing on content that strengthens faith. The State Coordinator of Zakat Sadaqah Foundation emphasized the obligatory nature of Zakat in Islam, describing it as a pillar of faith that supports the less privileged.

The seminar underscored the spiritual connection between Ramadan and Zakat, noting the multiplied rewards for voluntary acts during the holy month.
