Zulum Distributes Food Aid to 300,000 Households in Borno

On an unspecified date, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State initiated a distribution of food items to 300,000 households across 27 local government areas in the state, coinciding with Ramadan and the Christian Lenten season. The distribution aims to cushion the economic hardships faced by vulnerable residents, including both Muslim and Christian households.

Beneficiaries will receive bags of rice, millet, and sugar, with additional provisions set aside for elderly residents. Governor Zulum emphasized the importance of transparency and fairness in the distribution process, urging committee members to ensure that the items are not sold or diverted for personal gain.

He specifically noted that the aid is intended for widows, orphans, internally displaced persons, farmers whose fields have not fully recovered, and daily wage earners struggling to make ends meet. Any diversion of the items will result in legal consequences.
