Raphael Onyedika Completes Move to Eintracht Frankfurt

Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika has completed his transfer to Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt from Belgian Pro League champions Club Brugge. The 25-year-old penned a long-term agreement extending through June 2031 and will don the No. 25 shirt at the German club.

During his four-year spell with Club Brugge, Onyedika made 183 appearances in all competitions, netting nine goals while laying on six assists. His trophy cabinet from Belgium includes two top-flight titles, plus victories in the Belgian Cup and Belgian Super Cup.

The Super Eagles player has earned 26 international caps, bringing valuable experience to his new employer. Sporting director Markus Krösche of Eintracht Frankfurt emphasized Onyedika's robustness, game intelligence, and reliable performances as reasons for the acquisition.

The club views the signing as integral to building its squad for sustained success, reinforcing the midfield unit at this former Europa League-winning institution. With this move, Onyedika becomes the sixth player from Nigeria to play for Eintracht Frankfurt.

His predecessors at the club include Austin Okocha, the legendary Super Eagles skipper regarded as among the most celebrated African performers in Frankfurt's history, as well as Isaac Ojigwe, Donald Agu, Nduka Anyanwu, and Henry Isaac. Onyedika arrived at Brugge in 2022 following his departure from FC Midtylland, a Danish outfit.
