REA and Partners Launch Solar Mini-Grid Project in Plateau State for Rural Electrification

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) in Nigeria, along with state and non-state actors, is commissioning a 50-kilowatt solar mini-grid in a Plateau community to expand clean energy access. This project, supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and UNDP, aims to transform services sustainably.

The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu's directive to accelerate rural electrification and renewable solutions. Governor Caleb Mutfwang highlighted the project's significance for rural economic transformation.

UNDP representative Elsi Attafuah praised the collaboration and emphasized sustainable energy's role in economic resilience and climate action.
