Real Madrid Agrees to Transfer Yan Diomande from Leipzig

Real Madrid has secured an agreement in principle with RB Leipzig for the transfer of 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande. The player has already agreed to personal terms on a five-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until 2031.

Sports broadcaster Ben Jacobs reported this development via his X handle on Sunday. Diomande, born in Abidjan on November 14, 2006, joined Leipzig from Leganés and had an impressive debut Bundesliga season, scoring 12 goals and providing several assists in 33 league appearances.

He also represented Ivory Coast at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, earning praise for his performances. The latest agreement comes after Diomande had previously given a verbal agreement to Paris Saint-Germain in June.

Real Madrid's initial bid of approximately €90 million, with an additional €10 million in add-ons, was rejected by Leipzig, prompting the club to prepare a revised offer. Further details on the final transfer fee and completion of the deal are expected soon.
