Akpabio: Defections to APC Show Gratitude to Tinubu

Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, remarked that the recent defections to the All Progressives Congress (APC) signify a show of gratitude towards President Bola Tinubu's administration. Speaking on Friday in Abuja during the inauguration of the APC convention sub-committee program, Akpabio noted that Tinubu inherited a challenging economy when he assumed office in 2023.

He emphasized that the state administration has made significant decisions to stabilize the nation's economy and continues to support the reform agenda of the Tinubu administration. Akpabio pointed out that his administration has introduced tax reforms aimed at increasing government revenue, which has resulted in increased allocations to sub-national governments.

He asserted that the recent defections of opposition politicians to the APC reflect their confidence in the policies of the Tinubu administration.
