Reevaluate current PDP leadership in Taraba – Political commentator tells Kefas

Political commentator Jimkuta Emmanuel has called for a reevaluation of the current leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State following the defeat in the Karim 1 State Constituency election. The PDP chairman, Abubakar Bawa, has come under scrutiny for failing the litmus test of the August 16 election, where the party was unable to secure a seat despite a statewide campaign effort.

In contrast, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Abner Shittu Dahbo, emerged victorious with minimal campaign activity, indicating a lack of popular appeal for the PDP candidate. Emmanuel criticized Bawa for deflecting blame and urged Governor Agbu Kefas to reassess the current PDP leadership to avoid jeopardizing the party's chances in the 2027 general election.

The election result has highlighted deep internal weaknesses within the party, with Emmanuel warning that continued reliance on ineffective leadership could be detrimental.
