CCB Urges New Officers to Uphold Integrity Against Corruption

The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) charged its newly trained officers to reject corruption and uphold integrity in their duties during a closing ceremony on Monday in Abuja. CCB Chairman Dr Abdullahi Bello stated that the four-week training program, held at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Academy in Karu, marked a significant collaboration between the two anti-corruption agencies.

This was the first instance of the CCB sending a full set of newly recruited officers to the EFCC Academy. Bello highlighted that the officers were equipped with essential skills for investigating, examining, and enforcing the Code of Conduct.

He stressed that integrity must be central to their responsibilities, warning them against succumbing to corruption. The officers were reminded of their roles in handling asset declarations and supporting verification processes.

EFCC Executive Chairman Mr Olanipekun Olukoyede noted that the training would enhance operational effectiveness and commitment to enforcement. Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris, represented by Mr Haruna Suleiman, acknowledged the CCB's critical role in promoting high standards of conduct in public office.
