Primate Ayodele Demands Kanu's Release or Gumi's Arrest

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangel Spiritual Church, has urged the Nigerian government to release Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). In a video statement, Ayodele questioned the continued detention of Kanu while Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, an Islamic cleric, remains free.

He argued that the government should apply the same standards to both individuals, suggesting that if Kanu is kept in prison, Gumi should also be arrested. Ayodele emphasized that the government's handling of the situation reflects its seriousness regarding security matters in Nigeria.

He warned that if Kanu is not released, public protests could escalate against the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Ayodele's comments highlight ongoing tensions surrounding the treatment of political detainees and the perceived disparity in the government's approach to different individuals involved in security-related issues.
