Rema to Perform at 2026 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to kick off on June 11 and run until July 19, will feature a diverse music lineup, including Nigerian artist Rema, who is confirmed to perform at the opening ceremony. This marks a significant achievement as it is the first time Nigeria will be represented on such a prominent stage.

The tournament will take place across 16 host cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Rema joins a lineup that includes global stars such as Katy Perry, BTS, Madonna, and Shakira.

The event will also feature a historic halftime show on July 19, curated by Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin, with characters from Sesame Street. The halftime show aims to support FIFA's Global Citizen Education Fund, with a goal to raise $100 million for children's education by the end of the tournament.
