Rema and Tyla to Perform at 2026 FIFA World Cup Opening

Nigerian afrobeat artist Rema has been confirmed to perform at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony in Los Angeles, scheduled for June 12, 2026. He will be joined by South African artist Tyla, American rapper Future, pop singer Katy Perry, Brazilian singer Anitta, and BLACKPINK member Lisa.

FIFA announced that the opening ceremonies will occur in three separate locations across the host nations, with Mexico City hosting its event on June 11, 2026, and Toronto also participating. FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the Los Angeles ceremony as a reflection of the cultural diversity of the World Cup, emphasizing the event's role in showcasing the influence of music and entertainment on a global scale.

The ceremony will be produced by Balich Wonder Studio and will feature large-scale visual storytelling, with performances centered around the FIFA World Cup trophy. The tournament will consist of 104 matches across 16 cities, concluding with the final on July 19, 2026, in New York/New Jersey.
