Oluremi Tinubu Donates 10,000 Sanitary Pads in Kogi

On Wednesday, Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the President of the Senate, donated 10,000 disposable sanitary pads to schoolgirls in Kogi State during the launch of the Renew Hope Initiative in Lokoja. This initiative aims to empower schoolgirls across Nigeria by providing menstrual health education and sanitary products.

As part of a broader effort, she has committed to distributing 370,000 sanitary pads to girls in rural communities across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with an investment of N2.55 billion in procuring locally manufactured sanitary pads. During the event, she emphasized the importance of ensuring that no girl is forced to choose between dignity and education.

Afolabi Grace, the Federal Minister of Health, and Tijani Oricha, the state coordinator for the adolescent girl initiative, also spoke, highlighting the need for support from stakeholders to empower girls and ensure uninterrupted education during menstruation.
