Remita Launches Mobile App for Retail Financial Services

Financial technology firm Remita has introduced a new mobile application at Nigeria Fintech Week 2026 in Lagos, marking its expansion into the consumer and retail market. The application allows users to link multiple bank accounts, perform local and intra-African transfers, set up recurring payments, invest in stocks, access a retail lending marketplace, purchase tickets, and manage micro-pensions and utility bills.
Managing Director ‘DeRemi Atanda stated that this shift towards direct consumer services represents a significant milestone after over two decades in institutional payments. Head of Remita Consumer and Retail Business, Adedayo Adewale, highlighted that the app addresses the operational fragmentation faced by users who currently rely on multiple applications for different financial needs.
The platform also features budgeting and expense-tracking tools powered by artificial intelligence and enables cross-border payments through a partnership with PAPSS. Remita processes over N100 trillion in transactions annually, primarily from corporate clients.
