Omokri Critiques Buratai on Nigeria's Security Agencies

Reno Omokri, a former aide to the president, criticized former Chief of Army Staff Buratai for his remarks regarding the capabilities of Nigeria's security agencies in combating insecurity. Buratai expressed skepticism about the agencies' ability to locate bandits, suggesting they could not track them down despite their presence in ordinary citizens' lives.

Omokri countered that Buratai's comments failed to recognize the complexities involved in neutralizing terrorist networks, citing the prolonged efforts to capture Osama bin Laden as a parallel. He pointed out that despite advanced surveillance capabilities, it took nearly thirteen years to locate bin Laden.

Omokri also highlighted the recent successes of Nigerian security agencies, including the arrest and prosecution of notorious bandit leaders, such as Sule Yellow, who was apprehended three months ago. He urged Buratai to acknowledge these achievements rather than make statements that could undermine public confidence in the government's security efforts.
