Nigeria Earns N55.5 Trillion from Crude Oil Sales in 2025, Production Reaches 530.41 Million Barrels

In 2025, Nigeria generated N55.5 trillion from crude oil sales, based on data from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The country produced a total of 530.41 million barrels of crude oil throughout the year, with output fluctuating due to operational disruptions but gradually recovering.

The average crude oil price was $72.08 per barrel, contributing to the revenue. Despite production fluctuations, Nigeria's oil revenue played a crucial role in supporting the economy, although challenges like insecurity, policy uncertainties, high production costs, and infrastructure constraints persist.

The revenue figure does not reflect the government's actual receipts, excluding costs like joint venture cash calls and oil theft.
