Drinkabl Africa Launches $1 Billion Beverage Growth Report

The inaugural New Pour Report 2026, launched at The New Pour Summit 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya, identifies a $1 billion growth opportunity in Africa's beverage industry. The report, based on ten trends and over 15 data sources, highlights the shift of capital towards Southern and sub-Saharan Africa, driven by demographics such as urbanization and connectivity.

Tosin Balogun, co-founder of Drinkabl Africa and convener of the summit, stated that the report represents a commitment to Africa's beverage industry and aims to provide clarity to the ecosystem. Key trends include situational consumption, premiumization of local drinks, wellness, cross-border scalability, and 'return on culture.' The summit gathered beverage leaders, founders, and investors to develop frameworks for scaling African drinks globally, with a focus on building brands that start in Africa.

Brian Kiriba, founder of Handas Juice, emphasized the importance of resilience in navigating the African market, while David Idagu noted the unique challenges of building in Africa.
