Otarigho Backs NDC Consensus Plan for 2027 Elections

Emokiniovo Otarigho, an aspirant for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has endorsed the party's proposal for a consensus arrangement ahead of the 2027 general elections. He announced his interest in the nomination form at the party's secretariat in Abuja, aiming to represent the Ughelli/Udu federal constituency in Delta State.

Otarigho pledged to deliver inclusive leadership and stronger grassroots representation. He welcomed the idea of consensus candidacy but acknowledged that the final decision rests with the party leadership.

He stated that a consensus candidate would require all aspirants to engage in direct discussions. Recently, the NDC adopted a consensus mode for primaries in Nasarawa State, as announced by the state chairman, Dogo Shammah, to prevent internal crises and strengthen the party's chances in elections.

Otarigho expressed confidence in the NDC's internal structure, asserting that attempts to infiltrate the party would not succeed due to its openness and transparency.
