NDC's Dickson Calls for Reconciliation After Primaries

At a National Executive Committee meeting of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) in Abuja, Seriak Dickson, a former governor of Bayelsa State, acknowledged that while the party is not perfect, it performs better than older political parties in Nigeria. He called for reconciliation among party members following reports of irregularities during recent primary elections.

Dickson emphasized the need for aspirants dissatisfied with the outcomes to remain committed to the party and contribute positively. He announced a nationwide reconciliation process, directing state chairmen and zonal leaders to establish mechanisms for conflict resolution.

Additionally, Dickson revealed plans to introduce electronic voting for future party primaries, stating that Nigeria lags in adopting technology-driven electoral processes. He urged party members to remain patient as the NDC, only two to three months old, continues to build its structure and infrastructure.
