Nigerian House of Representatives Forms Committee to Amend Electoral Act

The House of Representatives in Nigeria has established a conference committee to focus on amending the Electoral Act. The committee, led by Rep. Adebayo Balogun, includes members such as Rep. Fred Agbedi, Sada Soli, Ahmadu Jaha, and others.

The goal is to collaborate with the Senate to reconcile differences in the Electoral Act amendment bill and produce a unified version for final passage. This initiative reaffirms the House's dedication to advancing electoral reforms to bolster transparency and public trust in Nigeria's democratic system.

Additionally, Senate President Godswill Akpabio has appointed members to work alongside the House in harmonizing the electoral bill. The Senate committee will be chaired by Sen. Simon Bako Lalong and includes members like Sen. Niyi Adegbonmire, Adamu Aliero, Orji Uzor Kalu, and others.
