House of Representatives Dissolves All Ad Hoc Committees

The House of Representatives announced the dissolution of all ad hoc committees effective Friday, August 28, 2026, as stated in a circular signed by the Clerk of the House, Sidi Ibrahim. This decision followed previous directives requiring all ad hoc committees to conclude their assignments and submit reports in line with the House's Rules.

The circular indicated that only two committees had sought and received extensions, which had since expired. It reiterated that ad hoc committees are temporary and not meant to exist beyond their specific mandates.

Citing Order Eighteen, Rule 11, Paragraph 5 of the Standing Orders, the Clerk noted that the continued existence of the committees was untenable after exceeding the allotted time. Consequently, all activities related to these committees must cease immediately.

The chairmen of the affected committees were instructed to submit all outstanding reports and materials to the Office of the Clerk for safekeeping, with a reminder for strict compliance from all members of the dissolved committees.
