Speaker Tajudeen Dissolves All Ad Hoc Committees

On Saturday, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, announced the dissolution of all ad hoc committees within the House, including the one investigating the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) in the 2026 Appropriation Act, chaired by Hon. Yusuf Gadgi. Other affected committees include those chaired by Hon. Kolawole Davidson Akinlayo, Hon. Zakaria Nyampa, Hon. Ibrahim Al-Mustapha Aliyu, Hon. Seyi Sowunmi, Hon. Daniel Amos, Hon. Donald Ojogo, Hon. Timeyin Adelegbe, and Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, which focus on various issues such as security funds, power sector reforms, and drug trafficking.

The dissolution was communicated through a memo titled “Dissolution of All Ad Hoc Committees of the House of Representatives,” signed by the Clerk of the House, Sidi Ibrahim. The memo stated that all activities of these committees would cease immediately, effective August 28, 2026, following prior announcements urging committees to conclude their assignments.
