Alia Urges JAMB to Reschedule Exams for Kidnapped Students

On Sunday, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia called on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to reschedule the examination date for eight candidates who were kidnapped last Wednesday. This request was made during a press briefing after the rescue of 13 kidnapping victims, including the eight UTME candidates, by security agents.

The governor explained that the victims were abducted while traveling from Makurdi to Otukpo for their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, which was scheduled to take place in Otukpo, approximately 105 kilometers from Makurdi. Alia commended the efforts of the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, and other security agencies for their diligence in rescuing the victims and urged them to continue their efforts in flushing out criminal elements in the state.

He also directed the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Paul Ogwu, to ensure that the rescued victims receive proper medical care.
