Nigerian Resident Doctors Give FG 30-Day Ultimatum Over Working Conditions

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) issued a fresh 30-day ultimatum to the Federal Government, demanding improved working conditions and addressing various issues. The ultimatum was announced during the NARD's 45th Annual General Meeting in Katsina State.

The newly elected President, Dr. Mohammad Suleiman, highlighted concerns about unsafe working conditions and exploitation.

NARD directed its members to adhere to a 24-hour duty limit starting October 1, 2025. The association also condemned the dismissal of five doctors at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja and urged the government to recognize postgraduate medical certificates.

The AGM focused on mitigating health worker migration and sustainable development strategies.
