Nigerian Resident Doctors to Begin Indefinite Strike from November 1, 2025

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has announced an indefinite nationwide strike starting November 1, 2025, following the expiration of a 30-day ultimatum issued to the federal government. NARD President Mohammad Suleiman disclosed the decision after a five-hour meeting of the association's National Executive Council (NEC).

The strike action is in response to the government's failure to meet the minimum demands of the doctors. The strike is expected to disrupt medical services across the country, impacting healthcare delivery.

NARD accuses both government and non-government actors of exploiting plans against resident doctors and urges members to prepare for the industrial action.
