Edo Residents Capture Kidnap Kingpin Ismaila Ibrahim

In Akoko Edo, residents successfully apprehended kidnap kingpin Ismaila Ibrahim, who was identified in connection with the kidnapping of Mallam Jamilu, a cow dealer from Ibillo. The arrest occurred on Thursday, following a voice note disclosure by Dr.

Bode Ekundayo, the national coordinator of the Movement for the Advancement of Akoko Edo People. Ibrahim, a known Fulani settler, was caught by vigilant youths in the community after the victim managed to escape and raise an alarm.

The kidnappers had initially demanded a ransom of N10 million, but the victim's family was only able to raise N6 million. Upon his arrest, Ibrahim confessed to his involvement in the crime but refused to disclose the identities of his gang members.

The Edo State Police Command confirmed the arrest and stated that further investigations are underway, with a manhunt launched for the remaining gang members. Ibrahim has been transferred to the state headquarters for thorough investigation.
