ADC Demands Tinubu's Immediate Return After Maiduguri Blasts

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) issued a statement on Tuesday condemning the bomb blasts that rocked Maiduguri, Borno State, resulting in at least 23 fatalities and numerous injuries. Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's spokesperson, expressed condolences to the victims' families and raised concerns about the federal government's response to the ongoing security crisis.

The ADC urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to return to Nigeria immediately to focus on addressing the deteriorating security situation, emphasizing that the nation is facing serious security challenges. The party noted that Maiduguri had recently experienced a period of relative stability after years of insurgent violence, and the recent attacks have raised serious concerns about the state of security across the country.

The ADC criticized the government for allegedly prioritizing political activities over national security and called for accountability regarding the lives lost due to security failures, suggesting that the government should compensate affected families.
