The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of being distracted by political calculations, which they claim has exacerbated the nation's insecurity. In a statement by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC pointed to the recent evacuation of non-emergency staff and their families from the U.S. embassy in Abuja as a clear signal of declining confidence in Nigeria's security architecture.

The ADC mourned the loss of Brigadier General Oseni Omoh Braimah, a soldier killed in a terrorist attack in Borno State, emphasizing that such tragedies reflect a broader systemic failure in leadership. They criticized the government's focus on political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 general elections, arguing that it detracts from the primary responsibility of protecting Nigerian lives.
