Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga confirmed the collaboration, revealing that security agencies established communication channels with the armed group shortly after the attack.

The operation involved careful planning to monitor the bandits' movements and ensure the safe release of the victims. Ultimately, 38 individuals were freed without casualties, highlighting the successful rescue effort.
