Northeast Governors Warn of Food Crisis Amid Rising Farm Input Costs

Northeast governors warn of a potential food crisis due to rising farm input costs, urging increased subsidies for farmers to boost production and avert the looming crisis. The governors, meeting in Jalingo, Taraba State, emphasized the need for a multidimensional approach to address the region's challenges, including insecurity and climate risks.

They also called for enhanced community sensitization to mitigate anticipated flooding. Plans were announced to host a Trade Fair in Maiduguri in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce to promote economic integration.

The governors highlighted ongoing efforts to tackle humanitarian and infrastructural challenges in the region.
