Rivers Lawmaker Umezuruik Defects to ADC from APC

Manuchim Umezuruik, a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has officially defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This move, which occurred in December 2025, is part of Umezuruik's support for Governor Sim Fubara during ongoing political crises in Rivers State.

Umezuruik's defection is significant as it reflects the shifting political landscape in the region, particularly as he joins the ADC to bolster the party's structure and support Fubara's governance efforts. Other members who have defected include Bonifac Emerengwa, Awaji Abiant, and Boma Goodhead, all of whom attended the ADC convention in Abuja.
