Fubara Defects to NDC from APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Bless Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Abuja. This decision comes as part of a broader political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Fubara was welcomed into the NDC by its national leader, Seriake Dickson, and other senior party figures. He expressed that his move was motivated by concerns for the political future and stability of Rivers State amid rising tensions.

Fubara emphasized the determination of the citizens to reclaim the state during the upcoming elections. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Development and Adult Education and has served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of D Consiglori LLC.

His previous roles include Technical Assistant to the Rivers State Government and various positions focused on community development and youth empowerment in the Niger Delta region. This defection adds momentum to the political landscape in Rivers State as stakeholders position themselves for the 2027 elections.
