Rivers State Government Commences Transition to Democratic Rule After Emergency Rule

The Rivers State Government has initiated a transition from emergency rule to democratic governance following the expiration of the suspended Governor, Siminalayi Fubara's term. The state officially began the transition process after the emergency rule declared by President Bola Tinubu expired on September 18.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, hinted at this transition after a successful local government election. As part of the transition activities, an interdenominational church thanksgiving service was announced by the state government.

The service, held at the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt, was attended by various dignitaries and stakeholders. This move marks a significant step towards restoring democratic governance in Rivers State.
