Rivers State Police Arrest Man for Alleged Rape Case

On April 11, 2026, the Rivers State Police Command arrested 24-year-old Otamiri Prince in connection with the alleged kidnapping and rape of Thoma Alic, also 24 years old, from Eliozu, Port Harcourt. The victim reported that she had met the suspect online and agreed to meet him in Igwuruta on January 3, 2026. Upon arrival, she was allegedly lured by Prince and an accomplice to a bush area in Ulakwo, where she was assaulted and raped, and her valuables were stolen. Following the report, the police initiated an investigation using technology-driven strategies, leading to Prince's arrest. He confessed to the crime, and items including an iPhone and a wig belonging to the victim were recovered. Police spokesperson Bless Agab emphasized the importance of caution for women job seekers using online platforms, advising them to avoid meeting strangers in isolated locations and to inform trusted individuals of their whereabouts.
