Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest Three Suspects in Rivers

On April 14, 2026, the Rivers State Police Command, under the leadership of ASP Agab Kaborlo Bless, successfully rescued a kidnap victim, Chisom Nwokolo Georg, and apprehended three suspects linked to a kidnapping syndicate. The suspects, identified as Chinedu Okoro (38, Imo State), Okwudiri Njoku (32, Ozuzu), and Onyema Sundai (25, Ika, Akwa Ibom State), were arrested during an attempt to abduct Nwokolo under the pretext of offering an interior decor job.

The police utilized technology-driven strategies to track the suspects, who had been luring victims from various parts of the country through social media platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook. The operation was part of a broader initiative to combat crime in Rivers State, following a previous kidnapping incident involving Chukwudekwu Emmanuel on February 17, 2026.

The police are continuing efforts to apprehend the fleeing gang leader and have advised the public to verify job offers and report suspicious activities.
