Rivers NULGE Initiates Seven-Day Strike Over Salary Dispute

The Rivers State chapter of NULGE declares a seven-day strike over withheld salaries affecting workers in 23 local government councils. The strike directive, effective immediately, follows a crisis where workers protested the alleged illegal removal of some employees from the payroll.

The state NULGE president, Sunday Adeniran, announced the strike, accusing the Emuoha council chairman, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, of unjustly sacking workers.

Despite the chairman denying the allegations and stating that all entitled staff have been paid, NULGE insists on the strike until justice is served.
