Rivers State Assembly Probes Financial Activities During Emergency Rule, Ensures Transparency

The Rivers State House of Assembly resumed plenary to investigate financial activities during the emergency rule declared by President Bola Tinubu in March 2025. Speaker Hon.

Martin Amaewhule led the session, focusing on restoring democratic processes and transparency. The House approved a motion to probe financial dealings and contracts awarded during the emergency rule.

A nine-member committee, including Hon. Major Leader and Hon.

Linda, was appointed for the investigation. The aim is to ensure accountability and transparency in the expenditure of the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

Additionally, the Assembly commended President Tinubu for restoring democratic governance in Rivers State and called on Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara to submit the State Executive Council list. This move aims to address pressing financial issues in the state.
