President Tinubu Summons Ibas Over ₦254 Billion Rivers State Expenditure Controversy

President Tinubu has summoned Ibas to Aso Villa amid a ₦254 billion expenditure controversy in Rivers State. Ibas, who served as the sole administrator of Rivers State, was suspended by Tinubu following allegations of financial mismanagement.

The Rivers House Assembly, under Tinubu's directive, has resolved to probe the state's finances during Ibas' tenure. The Assembly also declared a six-month emergency rule in the state.

It is reported that Rivers State received at least ₦254 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee between March and August 2025. The situation remains tense as investigations into the state's expenditure continue.
