RMAFC and INEC Strengthen Ties for 2027 Elections

The Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), led by Chairman Dr. Moham Bello Shehu, is deepening its partnership with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enhance funding and staff welfare ahead of the 2027 general elections.

During a courtesy visit from INEC Chairman Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, Dr. Shehu reaffirmed RMAFC's commitment to supporting INEC in improving its financial resources and staff conditions.

He disclosed that RMAFC has received communication from the President regarding the remuneration package for INEC. The two organizations are intensifying efforts to consult stakeholders to facilitate the approval of necessary funding.

Dr. Shehu emphasized the importance of adequate financial support to retain skilled personnel and ensure the successful conduct of voter registration, election logistics, and post-election activities.

Professor Amupitan expressed concerns over persistent funding challenges and the imminent retirement of senior officials, which could adversely affect INEC's operational efficiency if not addressed urgently.
