RMAFC Initiates Nationwide Data Verification in Kebbi

The Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), led by Prof. Adekunle Wright, inaugurated a nationwide data verification exercise in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, aimed at ensuring accurate data for revenue sharing among states and local governments.

This exercise is critical for strengthening the integrity of revenue distribution across the federation, aligning with the constitutional mandate outlined in paragraph 32(b) of the third schedule of the 1999 Constitution. Prof.

Wright emphasized the necessity of updating data to reflect socio-economic realities, including population shifts and infrastructural expansion. He commended the Kebbi State government for its cooperation and support, particularly from the state's finance commissioner, Hajiya Rakiya Tanko Ayuba.

The deputy governor of Kebbi State, Sen. Abubakar Umar Tafida, assured the commission of the state government's full support and readiness to provide necessary data and logistics for the exercise's success, highlighting the importance of credible data in developing sustainable plans for the populace.
