Rodri Open to Real Madrid Move Despite Atletico History

Rodri, a 29-year-old Spanish midfielder currently playing for Manchester City, has indicated a willingness to consider a transfer to Real Madrid, despite his previous association with Atletico Madrid. He joined Manchester City in 2019 and has made 293 appearances for the club, winning 12 major trophies, including four Premier League titles and one Champions League title under coach Pep Guardiola.

Rodri's contract with Manchester City is set to expire in the summer of 2024. He stated in an interview with Spanish media that he does not believe former Atletico players should rule out joining Real Madrid, emphasizing that one should not turn down the best club in the world.

When asked about Real Madrid president Florentino Perez's reported admiration for him, Rodri mentioned he does not communicate directly with Perez but through his agent. Rodri has made 59 appearances for the Spanish national team, winning the European Championship and the Nations League.
